Programs
After-school programs and extracurricular activities provide a richer environment to help students learn and grow. At Westwood Elementary, students have access to a variety of programs and activities to explore their interests.
Men Organized Respectful and Educated (M.O.R.E.)
M.O.R.E. is an after-school group for boys in grades 4-6 that is designed to strategically support and promote measurable improvements in academic achievement, promotion rates, graduation rates, and college readiness, with an emphasis on developing a strong character. The content of M.O.R.E. consists of Academic Support, Social Skills Development, College & Career Awareness, Financial Literacy, and Health & Wellness.
MORTAR Remix After-School Program
Run by MORTAR, a partner with Westwood for the Vision 20/20 Student Enterprise, this program meets every other Thursday from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Whiz Kids Tutoring
Provided through a partnership with Westwood First Presbyterian Church, the program provides tutoring on Tuesdays from 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sports
Girls Soccer
Available for grades 4-6, girls soccer is sponsored by Activities Beyond the Classroom (ABC). Fall and spring sessions are offered.
Boys Soccer
Available for grades 4-6, boys soccer is sponsored by Activities Beyond the Classroom (ABC). Fall and spring sessions are offered.
