Hi, I am Nurse Sheila, I have been a nurse since 1992 with the Cincinnati Health Department as a Public Health Nurse. I am a Registered Nurse from the State of Ohio and received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University. I have been with the Cincinnati Public Schools for 15 years. I love helping children and their families.
Please remember to turn in all of your health forms.
Medications
When sending prescription medication to school, please follow the guidelines of the Cincinnati Public Schools' Administration of Medication Form. The medicine must be in a pill, capsule, liquid auto-injector or inhaler form, and it must be clearly marked by the pharmacist. The label must show the student's name, medication name, dosage directions, doctor and prescription number.
Yearly Physical Exams
It is very important that you and your child have a yearly physical exam. Yearly physical exams can help you establish a relationship with a medical provider, whom you can contact when you or your child is sick. Physical exams can detect things that would otherwise go undetected. Early detection can help improve outcomes due to early treatment. If you or your child do not have health insurance or an established medical provider, feel free to contact me at (513) 363-5921.

Vision and Dental Information
Several times during the school year, students can be seen by the eye doctor at the Oyler Vision Center. The center is currently accepting Caresource, Molina and Medicaid. A van picks up our students and transports them to and from Oyler. If glasses are needed, they are delivered to the school in about 2-3 weeks. If you are interested in having your child's eyes examined, please complete the Vision Consent Form and return it to the school nurse.
Once a week, students (about 10 students) can be seen by the dentist at Delta Dental at Oyler. These appointments are for children who do not receive yearly dental care. Priority is given to students with obvious decay, but many students are seen for checkups, sealants and cleanings. A van picks up the students, transports them to the Oyler, and then returns them to school. They see all children even without health insurance coverage. If you are interested in having your child seen by the Price Hill Clinic dentist, please complete the Dental Consent Form and return it to the school nurse.
